Did you ever make a choice (dealing with a relationship, job, college, etc.) based on what your parents or family wanted - not what you wanted? If you regret it now, have you ever let them know?

Actually, I can think of lots of choices my parents disapproved of that I should NOT have made, but not so many of the opposite. My family doesn't give me much advice, but, when they do, it's generally good.

I do kind of regret getting into a serious relationship last year. I really didn't have the time for it, but I felt like my family was really wondering what was wrong with me with my lack of a love life. However, at the same time, I think it was a good learning experience for me - I just should have ended it earlier (which, hahaha, is what my family wanted).

I never seriously talk about my regrets with my parents. In any event, I don't see how one could tell them the kind of thing you're talking about without sounding whiny.
